“Follow me and do exactly what you see/don’t you wanna grow up to be just like me?” (Eminem)
From my own research, I know that most people who read and engage with me on this blog has an obstacle that they are trying to overcome. That obstacle can be an illness, an annoying boss, not enough time in the day or a lack of funds. Whatever it is, it is something that is holding you back. One of the best pieces of advice I can give you for tackling this problem …
Have you been in this scenario?
You need to hand in a project at school/college/university/work and you are under a tight deadline. If you do not complete it before it needs to be handed in, you will face the wrath of your tutor/exam board/boss. You have been given plenty of time to complete it…..but you end up doing it last minute.
Why is this? I don’t know the exact reason but I do know that a lot of the time we work harder at reaching a goal when we have a clear …
“You can really only have two things in life, reasons or results. Reasons don’t count”. (Anonymous)
Sometimes it can be the little things you hear while in passing that can be the thing that gives you that push you need to go for whatever it is you are after. I am a huge fan of quotes and just by hearing or reading a short sentence can be enough for me to get off my ass and do something about a situation.
The reason why I like the quote above & …
I just watched a very interesting Panorama special on the BBC about Internet music sharing.
It talked about a proposed new law that is threatening to disconnect the millions of internet users who unlawfully download free music, films and TV. Jo Whiley looked at how broadband use at home may never be the same, and could even be cut off. It left me thinking is Illegal downloading the Gift or the Curse for the music industry?
Some interesting facts on why it is a curse:
- Record Industry claims to be losing £200m …

“Can you sign this disclaimer form?” asked the Doctor, an hour before I was supposed to have surgery. By now my fingers felt numb, I had departed ways with MySpace and wasn’t sure where 2009 would take me.
Before I went in, I remember thinking: A year ago my friend told me about RSI and now I’m in hospital about to have an operation. How things can change so much in a …
One of the funniest and yet brilliant music success stories i’ve seen actually happened to my former flatmate, Lee Kirby.
About 3 years ago, Lee picked up the guitar for the first time and spent hours practising and writing songs. During this period he also started singing songs in Vietnamese, which was not surprising because he loves the Vietnamese culture. This started 7 years earlier when he said he would be the 1st English player to play professional football in Vietnam. He achieved this and since then his love affair began. …
Now, usually my posts are about helping, inspiring and telling stories or theories. I dont often let people know much about me besides the work side of me, but I am going to write a couple of posts about the nightmare I have been living with throughout 2008 and 2009. I am a pretty closed person but with this post and 1 more, you will read a true, personal story about me and the long battle I have had with Repetitive Strain Injury aka RSI.

Or rather, that’s the ‘Oh Sh*t, I gotta send that to my friend’ factor!
I remember a couple of years ago I was in your typical “boring” Monday morning meeting and was asked what my secret was in making a viral video as that month I had been fortunate enough to have had several successful back -to-back viral videos, so they wanted my input. The whole room looked at me and I had to think and act quickly. The first thing that came to mind was remembering my experiences in 2001 …
Twitter was definitely THE social media network phenomenon of 2009. Both celebrities and us common folk alike got slightly carried away with the fun of being able to randomly announce to our followers what we were doing, as and when we wanted. Whether as a means to occupy us whilst bored at work or on the move using phones, everyone seemed to get the Twitter bug and became addicted to the challenge of communicating in no more than 140 characters!
One of Twitter’s big attractive features was that …
The last half of the naughties saw a lot of growing trends; availability of Broadband on a large scale, online video growth went through the roof, connecting to friends/acquantances became easier and the gap between an unreachable celeb to the common folk decreased due to the likes of MySpace & Facebook. However with the good, always comes the bad – and they can trend too! One in particular has been the rise of the Internet Gangster.
Urban Dictionary describes these “hoodlums” as: “One who uses the internet as a …
