I remember 10 years ago I was sitting in the audience at a seminar listening to Dame Dash (Rocafella Records) speak about the music industry. He sounded so compelling, exciting and inspirational that I wanted in. Throughout that seminar, I heard a lot of people speak about their jobs, how we could do it too and potential steps to take. I listened carefully, took loads of notes and put them into action.
10 years later I found myself on a panel in Rotterdam talking to a hungry audience who wanted to …
“Follow me and do exactly what you see/don’t you wanna grow up to be just like me?” (Eminem)
From my own research, I know that most people who read and engage with me on this blog has an obstacle that they are trying to overcome. That obstacle can be an illness, an annoying boss, not enough time in the day or a lack of funds. Whatever it is, it is something that is holding you back. One of the best pieces of advice I can give you for tackling this problem …

A Bold Jay Z
“It is not the clever that get ahead, it’s the bold”.
Or is it? I read this a long time ago and the more people I work with, the more friends I have and the more stories I hear, I truly believe in that statement. I am not saying clever people don’t get to where they want to go, but what I admire about the bold, is that they are not afraid to ask, get off their ass and take action. They don’t …
The Dark Knight was one of my favourite films of last year. In fact, it was one of my favourite films in the last 5 years. Not only was the storyline excellent, but some of the scenes and script I thought was amazing & I personally took a lot from it. All the characters were great, but Heath Ledger as the Joker (RIP), was exceptional. (Almost as good as Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects…..almost).
You will probably read a lot of quotes from the Joker …
For years I wanted to do martial arts but I could not find the right teacher. I eventually found one and stuck with him for many years.
With most things I do, or decide to commit to, the mental game is more important than the action. So when he would sit down and speak about the fundamentals & philosophies of martial arts, I started to appreciate it because I could relate it to other elements of my life, especially work.
So, I came up …
I have worked in music and online for over 10 years now and I used to think that it was just this industry where it was not based on talent alone to break in. However over the years I realised it’s every industry. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
One of the reasons social networks have become so powerful is because people are becoming famous overnight. Unless you were already a celeb, the 1 thing in common people who became famous all had were powerful communities ie, …
See I believe in money, power, and respect.
First You get the money.
Then you get the muthaf*ckin, power.
After you get the f*ckin’ power muthaf*ckas will respect you.
(Little Kim-money, power and respect (radio edit))
I think this is true in gangster films and some aspects of real life but if you relate this to the world of social media, I think it is in reverse. First you get the respect, then you get the power and once you have the power then you will get the money.
Respect

My 2nd Vlog and i explaining that in Social Media, like life, you are going to get set backs but stay patient and eventually you will get what you are after.
Let me know your thoughts!
The 5th and final secret to having an active community on any social network is… to not be an idiot. I am not going to spend long on this as it is pretty self-explanatory.
If you take away one thing from this post please remember this….the Internet is and will be the largest archive ever. From text, to music, to videos, if it has been put online then it will be archived mainly due to everything having its own unique URL.
Now I am not saying to be overly cautious but remember …
