They say the hardest part about using the gym is actually going.

For many of us the idea of going to the gym everyday can be daunting…but the idea of staying fit is something that we all want to do.

Sometimes going to the gym can be problematic for us: long busy days, not near a gym, slight injury, knowing when to eat as not good to exercise on a full or empty stomach etc etc. One of my goals is to improve my heart rate so a few weeks ago I asked myself;

“How can I …

I was watching Dancing On Ice final (Don’t ask me why), when one of the male skaters mentioned something that caught my attention. They had to do the “Bolero” dance by Torvill & Dean and he said that every skater has studied this as a child growing up and that it was iconic.

It got me thinking about other sports and if I was a child, what would I want to watch and study to be a better sportsman in that particular sport. Here were my answers for my 3 favourite …

I feel the lessons taught in Music, Television, Film & Sport probably helped me more than any teacher from school and furthered my career than my degree. I have tested these in 3 areas to help teach others so far:

As a trainer in social media I often use references from the 4
When I helped improve Borderline D/C students increase their grades (B/As) in English GCSE coursework (was littered with references).

I was having this conversation with my friend yesterday and we were talking about the top 10 most iconic sportspeople of all time. When I say iconic, i don’t just mean the best at the sport but also who left a legacy behind them….and left a major impression on you.

Here are my top 10, in no particular order:

Micheal Jordan

Jordan is my favourite sportsman mainly due to stepping up when it matters. When someone needs a leader, he is always there. Also, not many sportsmen are playing their sport …

I have heard many wonderful things about the world of Yoga, so last night I thought I would see what all the hype was about. I was told Bikram Yoga (Yoga in a very heated room), was the best type so I went with my friend Saj to South London to participate in a relaxing night of “exercise”. It can’t be that hard, right? I mean how difficult can stretching and breathing be?

Since I was …

Ricky Hatton, Tactics & Flexibility!!!!

Monday, May 4, 2009 in Leverage, Real Talk, Sport

Abraham Maslow

I just finished watching the Ricky Hatton fight again.  Now I am no boxing expert but after watching the first 30 seconds, I was not surprised of the outcome. Why?  Because he was using the same tactics he always uses and was going up against somebody who knew exactly how to counter it.

Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, said after the fight that they knew Ricky Hatton’s tactics before they …
