For years I wanted to do martial arts but I could not find the right teacher. I eventually found one and stuck with him for many years.

With most things I do, or decide to commit to, the mental game is more important than the action. So when he would sit down and speak about the fundamentals & philosophies of martial arts, I started to appreciate it because I could relate it to other elements of my life, especially work.

So, I came up with ten examples of how martial arts and work are similar (No particular order):

Number 1: Do not fight against resistance

Number 2: Patience

Number 3: Ready, Aim, Fire

Number 4: Size does not matter (or job titles)

Number 5: Discipline

Number 6: The personal and internal battle

Number 7: Will power and motivation

Number 8: Anticipation is the key to success, Always try to stay one step ahead

Number 9: The best way to get better is practice

Number 10: Be flexible

Over the next few months I will try and break down each section.
